We are an informal rural congregation. Our membership includes many part-year residents. Therefore, in winter months our attendance is much higher than in the summer months. Attendees wear anything from suits and ties to jeans and boots. After our worship service we serve coffee and cookies or rolls prior to Bible Study. Our building is handicapped accessible. Children attend the services with their families.
Services at Peace in the Valley are based on traditional Missouri Synod settings from the Lutheran Service Book.
Attendees are welcome to take communion (see Communion for Visitors below).
In the Lord’s Supper we receive the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ in, with, and under bread and wine. (1 Corinthians 11:24-25) Since participation expresses unity of confession, guests are kindly asked to speak with the pastor before communing.
If you are unable to approach the communion rail, please notify an elder or usher. Pastor will serve you at your seat.
Adult Bible study meets at approximately 11:00 or following the brief refreshments time after the worship service. Pastor York leads the study.
Our Sunday School is very small. However, whenever we have children in attendance we conduct a lesson for them during the Adult Bible Study.
Peace in the Valley receives members through confirmation, transfers and profession of faith. Some of our winter visitors have Associate Membership and maintain their primary membership at their home congregation.
If you are interested in becoming a member contact the church office, an Elder or Pastor York.
